Zinfandel from Paso Robles and syrah from southern Monterey County comprise our 2004 and 2005 vintages. We particularly love the flavors of our westside zinfandel and appreciate the grape’s California roots. Our syrah is delicious on its own and blends beautifully with the zinfandel. We plan to add viognier, grenache and mourvedre to our program.

Our Label

The grasshopper- for five to six centuries the Thacher crest has sported them. We like to think they were a whimsical, irreverent reaction to the griffins rampant and lions proper that were de rigueur in the grand heraldic displays of yester years. At any rate the humble grasshopper with his perpetual smile now graces our label.
